Hell Is Optional – A Bible Gospel Fact

Have You Heard The Good News? – Hell is Optional

Yes, bible scriptures have good news.  Hell is optional.  No one has to go to Hell, the place of eternal torment unless they choose to do so.  You might being saying to yourself, “Why would a person choose to go to such a place?” This short video will explain.

Bottom line – God does not send anyone to hell.  Bible scriptures tells us that people choose to go to hell by rejecting God’s free gift of forgiveness and eternal life.  Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except by me.”

Lazarus and The Rich Man

Bible Story of Rich Man & LazarusThe bible also describes what hell is like in Luke 16 19-31.  Some people call this story that Jesus told, a parable.  But unlike all of the other parables that Jesus told, this one actually mentions a persons name, Lazarus.  So Jesus was apparently telling an eyewitness account of this rich man and Lazarus.

Luke 16, 19-31

19 “There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’

25 “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’

30 “ ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.”

God’s Plan Of Salvation

Bible Crucifixion Account“But wait”, as they say in some commercials . . .there’s good news. No one has to go to hell.  God knew how horrible this place is so He sent His one and only Son to pay the terrible price for our sins so that whom ever believes in Him, will be saved.

John 3 : 16-18 – 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”

So the church (those who have received the sacrifice of Jesus), and believe that He rose bodily from the grave on the third day according to the scriptures, will never have to worry about God’s judgment and ending up in a place of eternal torment.

There’s Even More Good News

Bible Account of the Resurrection

Not only is there no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, but the also the hope of being resurrected after our death.  Since Jesus demonstrated His power by raising Himself from the grave, He to will also raise all believers from the grave on the last day.  We can look forward with great joy to living forever with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  We’ll be there to see whatever God plans on doing in eternity.

You To Can Escape God’s Wrath

So why not choose Jesus and receive God’s mercy.  It’s up to you.  God gives us the freedom to either accept or reject His salvation.  We pray that you will accept.  To accept, all you need to do is pray to Jesus and tell Him you’re sorry for your sins and ask Him to forgive your sins and give you eternal life.  Then make a conscious decision to repent, to turn away from your sin.  We don’t have the spiritual strength to repent on our own.  But when we receive God’s gift of forgiveness, He gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit who will give us the strength to turn from our sins.

We highly suggest that you get yourself a bible or download a bible to your tablet or smartphone.  A very good bible app is the YouVersion Bible App.  When you get your bible, start with the book of John.  It’s located in the New Testament, after the book of Luke and before the book of Acts.  Then find a bible believing church so you can have fellowship with other believers.  You will also be able to experience the joy of worshiping our Lord and King together with other believers.  Until you find a good bible believing church, we highly recommend Allen Jackson Ministries. You can watch services online and there is tons of resources that will help you with your walk with the Lord Jesus.
